The Beautiful and Tropical Hawaiian Ti Plant also known as the good luck tree, good luck plant, Cordyline fruticos and Cordyline fruticosa. These are perfect for adding color to your tropical garden with an exotic plant flair.
These colorful Hawaiian Tropical Plants are native to Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands and grow abundantly in the wild in Hawaii and other Pacific islands.
The Ti Plants comes in several colors, my favorite which I have in my garden is the pink ti plant that is actually a blend of pink, burgundy and red, its quite stunning and really makes a tropical impact to my garden.
Then the other colors of Hawaiian ti are reddish purple or its leaves can be found green or a combination of green, white, red, purple, and yellow as you will see in the pictures below.
These evergreen, yes they are an evergreen, plants not only grow well outside, but they are also great as tropical house plants and grow best is a moist but slightly acidic soil, and make sure the water drains freely around your plant because if it is allowed to pool you can get root rot which will definitely kill your tropical plant. So with that said please remember it likes lots of moisture but not too much.
Caring for your ti plant can be very easy, when being grown outside they love the sun but need partial shade, but if you are growing the ti plant as an indoor plant make sure you don’t put it in direct light by a window, but have it get indirect or filtered light throughout the day, because sunshine is what gives it its bright color but direct sunlight through a window will cause the leaves to burn.
The beautifully colored leaves of the tropical ti plant are often used in tropical floral arrangements to add an exotic look, and is even used to wrap food in for cooking.
