Care Instructions For Phalaenopsis Orchids, Growing Orchids Indoors, Growing Orchids For Beginners, and Phalaenopsis Orchid Care

Let me make this as simple for you as possible!

In their natural habitat where they grow naturally there is constant warm weather and lots of humidity which naturally provides the Phalaenopsis with everything it needs to survive.

Its always best to give your orchids humidity by putting an over sized saucer under the pot filled with small pebbles or rocks, if you really want to make it look pretty get a clear saucer and put small colored glass pieced or small colored rocks at the bottom, then filled with water.

These are epiphyte orchids, which means they will grow on drift wood and in and on the bark of trees.

The phalaenopsis orchid plants like bright light but do not like direct sun just like in their natural habitat in tropical rainforest.

If you are growing them in the correct lighting the foliage should appear yellow-green not dark green. Also a indication that your plant isn’t getting enough light is if the new leaf growth is longer and narrower than the old existing leaf.

Just like most all other orchids the ideal temperatures during the day should be between 65 and 85 F. and 55 to 65 F. in the evening.

When watering you must never allow the soil to dry out, though water should never be allowed to collect or pool at the base of the plant.

Make sure to use a well drained orchid potting mixture and its good practice to spry your plant with a fungicide once in a while.

A regular application of liquid fertilizer every other month is beneficial for optimum blooms and thick foliage.

In order to keep your plant healthy year after year make sure to o repot phalaenopsis orchid plant every two years or so and to make sure you are providing the best phalaenopsis orchid care, use a use a mixed media that i have provided specifically for these orchids phalaenopsis.
