How to Grow your Justicia Brandegeana Plants
For the optimum growth of this plant it should be planted in zones 9 through 11.
If it is going to be in direct sunlight it can only really tolerate the morning sun until it starts to hit high noon it should be in the shade. So watch the sun in your garden and its movement throughout the day before you plant it to insure ling life of your pink Justicia Brandegeana or your yellow pachystachys Lutea.
Having a well drained soil is important for these tropical rainforest plants and a rich nutrient organic soil simulates its natural habitats rainforest soil that it loves to thrive in.
Fertilizing is very important for this plant that is used to a very rich soil so I suggest either a time released pellets to be used every 3 months or a liquid all purpose fertilizer to be used every other month.
You'll be happy you followed these simple instructions once you see your plant constantly blooming.
Also remember you can plant these in pots for your deck or patio, I'm not sure if it can be grown indoors and look great but if your willing to try, go for it.
