Tropical Tabebuia Tree

Tabebuia Tree

The Tabebuia Tree is native to tropical America, there is the Golden trumpet tree, the tropical Pink Trumpet tree and Caraiba the Silver Trumpet Tree, trumpet tree, fragrant tree, trees with yellow flowers and trees with pink flowers.

This tropical tree can grow to a height between 15 and 50 feet but it’s a slow growing tree so it will take a long, long time to reach 50 feet, which is perfect because no matter what it will still bloom and bring you color year after year.

The flowers this tree produces are between 1 to 4 inches wide but are produced in dense clusters making them seem larger that they really are.

The colors range from yellow to lavender and pink flowers and as you will see from the pictures below they are so beautiful!

This low maintenance tree is perfect for those of us whom don’t have a lot of time to give it, but remember it is a tropical tree and it needs lots of moisture and loves full sun.

You will need to use a flowering tree fertilizer first signs of spring then again in June.

You must always prune either diseased branches or sickly looking branches to keep your tree healthy and you can also prune it to keep its size and shape under control.

Once the tree has become established you will find that it won’t need as much attention except for moisture and watering your Tropical Tabebuia Tree.

There are over 100 species of these tropical trees which are mainly grown in hot tropical climates around the world or more costal regions like Florida or California and naturally Hawaii and the pacific islands.

These trees belong to the Bignoniaceae family and are considered to be a Deciduous Tree and it is one of my favorite fragrant trees.

All three of these tropical trees are stunning ornamentals that are great for adding brilliant color to any tropical garden bed, commercial parking lots or parks. When in bloom this incredible tree will be the focal point of your garden, if you’ve seen one in bloom they’re quite a site to behold with its burst of pink or yellow flowers.

This tree will grow best in zones 9 to 11, loving full sun they will flourish and produce many fragrant flowers for you to enjoy.

The trumpet tree is very easy to grow and isn’t particular about the soil it is grown in moist or dry it really doesn’t care as long as it’s a well draining soil.

It can tolerate drought for short periods of time on the tree has become established.

Fertilize each year at the beginning of spring.
